The Ballad of Angus McKay*

by G. Jack Urso

down on your luck

and needing a buck?

well, if you don't like your hand

and want a new deal

the heavens will hear your appeal

although once on your knees

and having knelt

you might not like the cards you're dealt

such is the tale of Angus McKay

a big-hulking bully who always got his way

the law’s most wanted until the day

he placed the wrong bet

selling off to the devil his soul for a debt

who makes him pay his way through purgatory

by being the words that herein makeup this story
